    Countable Nouns

Countable nouns are things that we can count

Example : cats, keys and boxes

Ø  Uncountable Nouns

Uncountable nouns are things that we cannot count

Example : jam, coffee and sugar

Quantifiers are word used to tell us about a quantity of something.

      The following quantifiers are used with countable and uncountable nouns

      Notes  

‘Any’ can be used for both countable and uncountable nouns. It is used in negative sentence and questions

Examples : 1. I don’t have any storybooks with me.       ( negative sentence )

                  2. are there any toys in the room ?                 ( question )

                  3. there isn’t any tea in the teapot                  ( negative sentence )
